Mischa Kuball - Believe/Disbelieve

Mischa Kuball, Believe/ Disbelieve, 1999

The German artist Mischa Kuball  placed two large motorized mirror-balls (one going clockwise and the other counter-clockwise) into the darkened gallery. The balls continually spun around creating his Believe/Disbelieve installation. Projectors beamed slides onto their surfaces. The slides contained letters of the alphabet, which were thrown onto the surfaces of the mirrors and then reflected onto the walls, floor and ceiling of the room.  The effect was part empty disco, part fun fair disorientation room but one hundred percent immersive installation
