'Archive', Group Exhibition, 1995 ‘Archive' was organised as a grand send off to Site One as the Museum of Installation moved to another location in London (Deptford), and it represented five years of projects. The exhibition was designed in association with the architects Simon Miller and Alain Chiaradia. The concept of the show was to ask all of the artists who had previously made work for the space (over thirty) to reimagine their project in an archive version. They were given complete freedom to interpret that as long as the work was in miniature and could fit into the specially made crates for the show, which also functioned as plinths. The architecture and administration of the museum were also formalised into objects and documents that fit into the boxes. The project as a whole, was an attempt to present a different way of looking at archives, in the same way that MOI was a different way of making a Museum possible.
