2016
Spoken word narrative re-construction, Oral tradition
Duration: 3 minutes
Shot on iPhone

This film is an experimental piece in a new project about fantasy (fiction), (peripheral) reality, perception, and belief.
Speculating on the effects of post-truth and conspiracy theories and their involvement in the existence of alternate realities. To what extent does belief manifest?  Is it possible to experience all of these realities? Can a person obtain/experience a conscious state of oscillation in belief and perception, a cerebral superposition?

As mode of exploring this world, this film is a character performance. A performance of my ‘self’, possessed by a manifestation of ‘other’ realities and alternative histories that exist. A performance (through written stream of consciousness prose) as means to evoke a contrived experience of this proposed ‘oscillation’.

A tinfoil helmet is worn in the film, styled off history tinged, genre fantasy, and ‘Larping’ costumes. Tin foil being a domestic material, with common uses in consumption of food, drugs and protection from unseen forces, and imagined or perceived threats.

Under the influence of the outside world that creeps into the home through devices. Realities emerge as sleep deprived peripheral hallucinations and paranoid synchronicity events of psychosis, they fill the screen.
